This episode starts to get the ball rolling for the second half of the season, which is about to pick up like a freight train. A freight train made of win.

In this episode, we see the house operating under some new dynamics, and the effects of Leeroy’s departure from several sides. Also, there are lulz. Anywho, check the TLW Premiere page to see a high-res version of the episode. Clear your browser cache if you’re still getting the old video.

See the new ep after the jump!

I’d like to give a special shout out to our webmaster Jeff (better known as JJ around these parts) for writing this episode. As I’ve said before, we divided this Season into 4 distinct arcs, each consisting of 3-4 episodes apiece. We are now on the third arc of the show, which Jeff is lending his expert penmanship to. He also wrote episodes 9 and 13 of Season One.

Also, as always, thanks to Jace (AKA Damn Dangerous) for the killer tunes. He always surprises me with each song, and seriously, listening to the music is one of the most exciting parts of each episode before we release it. We’ve easily got the best music in a machinima series. By a mile. Give him props and double props, plz.

Enjoy!

We now present to you dudes Season 2, Episode 7 of The Leet World, Tempest. As we’ve said for several weeks, this episode is a game changer, in more ways than one.

It also officially marks the halfway point of Season 2, in terms of the story we’re telling. Does that mean the whole season is going to be 14 episodes? Maybe, maybe not. We’ll see how it unfolds.

But just like Episode 8 was a big mile marker last season, this episode is serving the same function. And just like last year, we’re taking a few weeks off to get ready for the back half of this epic season. We need it!

Remember, you can watch a higher res version at the TLW premiere page, or just watch it after the jump!

Do be careful about spoilers if you decide to read the comments before watching the video. Super big thanks to Damn Dangerous for yet another rocking score. Some of the moments in this episode gave me chills, for real.

Enjoy!

We feel like we have scaled some kind of beastly machinima mountain. No, this doesn’t mean the episode is coming any minute now, because there’s quite a bit that has to get done to it before it’s ready for your calloused videogamer paws, but it’s close, and I’m excited.

One of the coolest parts of doing The Leet World is getting to hear the awesome stuff that Mr. Jace Ford, aka Damn Dangerous, pumps out for us every new episode. To watch the process go from a script to a final cut with his music put into it for the first time really is something special. The dude works hard to score each episode, and usually only does so in about a week’s time.

Anywho, over the course of the show we’ve seen tons of great comments regarding the music, so I wanted to know- which episode of The Leet World has your favorite music? I couldn’t quite put that in a poll since there would be way too many options, so feel free to respond in the comments.

Jace did an amazing job putting this whole thing together, and it really deserves to be listened to, and is for real worth the price. In fact, it’s a steal.

If you want to help support what we do here at Smooth Few Films, this is the way to do so. While we enjoy making The Leet World and Web Zeroes and providing those things for free on the Web, it does cost us money out of our own pocket to keep things going. Buying an album is the perfect way to help us ensure that we can keep doing this stuff, because like I said, we enjoy it and we love giving it to you.

So if you want, feel free to chip in and purchase even a song or two (though we’d prefer you buy more than one song since PayPal takes so much per transaction). Every little bit helps, and goes towards things that make this process even better. Remember, if you don’t have a credit card, a pre-paid card is easy to get and is always an option, too.

To purchase the soundtrack, just add it to your cart and proceed with the checkout. Once you’re done, you’ll get an e-mail with download instructions and a link.

Thanks to all of you who continually support us, be it through purchases, kind words, telling your friends, or just watching and enjoying.

I thought I’d post to let you guys know that Jace (aka DamnDangerous) has put up a preview of 2 songs from the TLW Season One Soundtrack, due out in the next couple of weeks. I know we’ve been promising this thing for awhile, but getting everything in order is a lot more complicated than we thought, and the album got all the time it needed to be as excellent as possible.

The two songs are on Jace’s myspace page. One is titled “If It Bleeds”, which is from Episode 8 during the hunt of the Domination Man, and the other is called “The End of all Things” which is from part 3 of the Season Finale. He has remixed and fleshed out both of these tracks from their original small bits from the episodes and turned them into fully realized songs.

Remember, this is just a preview, so you won’t be able to download them until we start selling the album. Trust me when I say it’ll be worth it.

Each of the songs that Jace chose for the soundtrack has gotten similar treatment (10 songs in all plus 3 additional versions of the theme), so you can trust me when I say it freaking rocks. Expect a full track listing and price details in a week or so.

Go listen!

I’ve been promising some announcements for several weeks now, so I figured it was time to stand and deliver. I’m no Lou Diamond Phillips, but I think I’ll be ok. Also, you may want to read on to see an interesting tidbit about part 3 of the Season Finale.

Here’s the stuff in the works…

The Leet World Season One Soundtrack. Sometime after the release of the Season Finale, we’ll finally be adding a section to our website for you to purchase a soundtrack inspired by music from our first season of The Leet World. Jace has been hard at work on this for a bit now, and is choosing a number of his favorite tunes from the course of the season to re-record and fill out as full songs, rather than the 20-30 second bits you hear in the show. We can’t talk details of pricing and such as of yet, but rest assured, it will be reasonable. And trust me, it’ll be worth every penny. Besides, if you just want one song, you can buy it individually.

G.R.I.E.F. This is a short Halo mini-series that we plan on doing a few episodes of. I don’t want to say too much about what the actual concept is, but it’s essentially a parody of super-hero teams and should make for a good time. Lots of action, lots of comedy.

Web Zeroes. Our pride and joy. A live action mockumentary starring Smooth Few Films, filmed in HD. That’s all I’ll say at the moment. We’re extremely excited about this.

New sites! While we enjoy our website and value the way it’s been able to carry us through the season, it really is kind of busting at the seams, mainly because we didn’t anticipate the kind of use it would be seeing after just one year’s time. A re-design is already in the works for this site, as well as a brand new site that will act as the Smooth Few Films hub for all of our projects.

So there you have it. Some of these things are a bit off, and some of them are rather close, but I really wanted to put this out there before Season One was over, so you know that more stuff is coming from Smooth Few Films during the gap between seasons. There will also be some Leet World related shorts (think the Christmas special) that I can’t talk about too much without giving stuff away.

Part 3 of the Finale is coming in a few days. If you’re wondering why it’s taking longer than we thought, word on the street is that it’s nearing 18 minutes in length. Wow.

EDIT: By the way, tomorrow’s my birthday. Big 25.

While a lot of it is exaggeration, I still found it crazy how many people have apparently had similar experiences with the unnamed video game retailer.

A lot of folks have also been asking about the voice of GunFly. That’s Ty. You’ve heard his voice before in Episodes 9, 11 and 12 of The Leet World.

Here for your enjoyment is a new sampling of our audible screw-ups. Our rule of thumb is that we like to release audio outtakes for every two episodes, simply because one episode wouldn’t provide enough material to produce something worthwhile. Even though Episode 11 didn’t have much dialogue, Episode 12 more than made up for it. It seems the extra time in the booth can give a man a taste of closet fever.

How bad is the fever? You’ll just have to listen and find out. Right-click and select “save as” to download.

More filming tonight. An Episode 13 update is coming in the near future.

It’s so bizarre to be working on our 12th episode. So far, Episode Twelve isn’t quite the three-headed dogbeast we imagined it would be. I think we always forget how much easier a regular episode is in comparison to something like a challenge episode.

If you haven’t seen the Themetacular Contest rules yet, I’d advise you to check them out. Remember, we don’t want to just hear you guys trying your best to imitate Damn Dangerous- get creative, go all out, make the song your own, change the style- the more distinct, the better.

Here are some screenshots from Episode Twelve to satiate The Leet World appetite, if only temporarily. Over the weekend, we’re going to start adding some really cool new content to the website. A virtual nerdery for those of you obsessed with really digging into that kind of stuff. Should be fun.

As promised, here is the song from Damn Dangerous that was composed for “A Day in the Life of a Turret”. We don’t talk about Jace and his music as much as we should, but seriously- he makes our videos what they are. This newest song, “Nine to Five”, is a perfect example of how music can take a piece to the next level. In the near future, there will be more ways to get your hands on the music that is featured on The Leet World.
