Re-Introducing: Web Zeroes!

microphoneAnd here it is, the premiere episode of Web Zeroes on Revision 3, made by us dudes at Smooth Few Films. If you’ve seen the original episodes we made last year, you’ll see a few bits that are familiar, along with lots of new ones. Like we’ve said, this is a reboot of the series, so it’s different than the previous pilot we did.

In this episode, Ray, Nate and Alex attempt to record a podcast as the start of their (hopeful) future stardom on the Web. This is our first episode launch, so things might be a tad spotty this time, but in the coming weeks we’ll get the process all nailed down. Be sure to update your flash player to watch the embedded version, and for downloadable versions, simply visit Revision3.

We hope to have a premiere page for upcoming releases, but for now, hit the jump to see the first episode. Episode 2 will be out next Wednesday, October 14th!

Special thanks as always go to Jace, who scored the episode, as well as Alex, Chuck and LJ, our lovable crew who do this for nothing.

In terms of really cool things that are kind of awesome and crazy, we were featured in the Houston Chronicle today, an honest-to-goodness newspaper. Imagine that. Definitely some cool info there for you long time fans.

Anywho, watch the episode, comment and enjoy!

Great to see this keg of talent has finally been discovered. Can’t wait to see what next week brings!

It’s very good but the Netflix Product placement kind of pulled me out of the whole thing.
If you’re going to do product placement, please do it in a comedic way or in a discrete way.

Other than that, I really liked it.
Not as good as TLW (but I don’t think you can top that awesomeness)

😀 Haha, I just say it how it is.

    I did like it though.

lol omg guys, so damn funny. “I’m Nick and its time for Unicorn Cast. Boom!” “Why did you stop it?!?” “Shit!!!” definite lolz there. love the new Web Zeros, can’t wait for the next episode

  7. awkook

Omg. that was funny. When you guys redid some of your scenes in the previous episodes, i thought they were better before. but this episode was still funny as hell. Too many good quotes in there i cant even remember. Keep it up guys! And i guess netflix is part of the deal eh?

I think we agree with you about some of the gags being better before. For consistency’s sake, we had to re-shoot a few of them because 1) I lost 35 pounds since last year and 2) Nick moved to a new place, so anything at his place had to be re-done. Not to make excuses, but it’s hard to re-create that stuff. Thanks for the feedback, we’ll definitely keep it in mind for some of the old gags we still have yet to shoot.

      Thanks for the comments, guys!

  8. Pwezem

Yeah, the Kevin Rose gag was done better in the other version,
aside from that, It was Amazing!

    Well done guys! Loved it!

Glad to see the beard back in action :3

    Good stuff guys,

As a Leet World fan, I’ll definitely be watching your Web Zeroes series. You guys provide awesome entertainment that I’d watch sooner than any cable television show.

    Ciao,

O TEH NOEZ SMOOTH FEW IS THE SELD OWWTZ! I LIEK MAH ARTIZTS STARVING!

    I kid, of course.

I love the new format of the show, though I agree that some of the gags were executed better in the original. I also have to say that I absolutely love the new opening. It actually seems like a show that I would see on TV now.

I’m glad you guys have found such an awesome opportunity and I hope to see more episodes of such awesomeness soon.

This edit looks so much more professional.. though I have to agree with some of the others that a lot of the great jokes I laughed at weren’t brought around so great the second time.. I think the one that disappointed me the most was Dianne announcing that she got into grad school. There were some other ones too.. but down with the negatives and up with the positives.. It was enjoyable to watch. 🙂

  16. S.T.R.E.L.O.K.

Oh dude. Seriously. I’m disappointed. The new show just looks so… don’t know how to say it. The remakes of the jokes are way worse than the original jokes and the new “professional” editing just meh.
    I can only quote:

“A status upgrade can be all that changes a lovable underdog into a smug wisecracking tosser.”

    1. Eddy

Thanks for the comments, dudes. For those of you who have reacted with disappointment, hopefully the next episodes change your mind. Remember, this is just one episode out of many.

As for the old jokes, I think some of those issues fade as we move to new material. It’s a weekly show, so you’ll get to see more next Wednesday.

I have been a fan of you guys since about the third leet world episode and thought that the first rendition of Web Zeroes was amazingly hilarious, so, do not take any of my comments negatively. I only hope to help you onward in your quest to achieve in some way.

    Brutally Honest Review:

I think that your first rendition of the show was much better, and not just because I had seen it before. I do understand that you are rebooting a show, and that doing things the first time around has a special flow to it that you can’t just recreate on a whim. I do, however, still believe that the first time around was so much better, had so much more flow. Some of the small highlight jokes (maybe this wasn’t in episode 1 of the first show, but Eddy jumping on Nick and them beating each other up randomly) added a certain flavor to the show and expressed the full on nerdiness that we’d expect from three guys on the internet trying to get famous. This episode, I feel, just didn’t have enough relatable (if thats a word) nerdiness to it. I know that you guys do not like listening to other peoples ideas, but I’m more of the old type “nice” jocks, and don’t really give jack squat about most online things, and the least, online plajarism. You guys, for your future episodes, should focus a little more on the nerdy side (as thats what highlights most online celebs) as well as what nerds would do, and not as much what nerds think about. Actions are, a lot of the times, more able to be related to than words. Other things to work on are the product placement, which I do realize you must do, and don’t have a lot of leeway in choice, and the acting. It was just so much better when it wasn’t…professionally run, I guess. At least, it seemed like you guys were more comfortable in your own skin. If Nate did the directing, then I apologize, and hope that you guys can become more comfortable in the future.

    And the good:

You guys worked hard. It came out for the most part polished. The jokes were still pretty funny and I did smile and chuckle a bit. As you said Eddy, the old joke issues will fade away as you move on to new material, and the seeming comfort issue as well. I guess, after you guys blew the top off of everything you did (The Leet World was hilariously polished, even if you didn’t think it was, from the first episode onward, and so were your shorts, as well as the first three episodes of the old WebZeroes) your fans may have more expectations of you than most people. Thats the price of greatness, I’m afraid. But you guys have earned that “curse”, as they say, and I am sure that Web Zeroes will turn out amazing in the end. Oh, and on a side note, I kind of liked the old beginning. Just showed how nerdy you guys were, as well as low budget, and set the tone for the show.

    Lol. I loved it.
” i dont care if your mom is calling you for dinner, we have a match”
Even if some of the old jokes werent pulled off perfect, this was still great.
I want to be a part of your world Eddy…

  19. Eddy

FNTHEDEALER, thanks for a great, honest and constructive comment. One of the finest I’ve seen on the Web, for real.

And glebe, my world is a dark and shady place.

True, I totally agree. Web Zeroes is sortta like a nerd show (not being offensive, 🙂 ). Nerd inside jokes would be nice!
Plus, the episode nicely compressed the jokes of the original three episodes together into this episode. Though I always thought the first three re-boot episodes would be only a slightly edited version of the originals, but new material is always good.

Really? I hardly see how that quote is relevant apart from directly attacking SFF for what appears to be no justified reason, as for the show the original was gold and I can understand why they would recycle a few things so the people that did not experience the original can get a laugh out of them, I enjoyed it once the new material comes in I am confident I will love it.

Sorry I haven’t posted guys, my computer won’t let me login. I’m at school now. Anyways, about the episode.

I liked it. Quite a bit. I disagree with alot of other people about it being better before. I didn’t like it before honestly. And I was disappointed that TLW was being canceled for this. But now I changed my mind. It was awesome. Lots of lolz, well done. And the Netflix advertisement wasn’t that bad. I think this is great and I am very happy for you guys. Keep up the good work.
