House Cleaning

So today we knocked a big chunk of filming for Episode Thirteen out of the park, claiming it as our property in celebration not unlike a young boy named Stephen once did. Yes, there was some collective Smooth Few Films squatting. Maybe one of the least problems-free days in our short history of production.

Nick upgraded the “camera” computer that we use to film the show, complete with an 8800 GT. Needless to say, our characters are colorful and smooth and it definitely enhances the look of everything. I even brought some screenshots to prove it.

    Also, Eddy/Nick/Daniel/Anyone Else, Can you give us an estimate for the episode release date? It looks pretty cool, and its gonna be a nice filler for the epic Episode 14 wait. Also, can’t wait for the Halo Short, gonna be awesome, I’m a huge fan of your shorts.

    I can’t wait for all the stuff coming out this week. And I’m surprised that a new graphics card helps that much on such an old game. I’ve been thinking about getting a 8800 gt myself.

    Yeah, maybe I’m a total noob, but it surprised me too. I guess I figured we had CS:S mostly maxed out since like you said, it’s such an old game. I thought it might look a little better, but it’s pretty noticeable, from the second we loaded the game up to capture.

    I have a radeon x550 (256MB) and CSS runs at 30-45 FPS with all tex&models set to high , AA2x and full HDR. Imagine how it would be on a 512 card , excelent vidz , keep up the good work πŸ˜€

    This would be great if you have changed the CSS world models into something high quality.. Cause the default sucks.. Yeah and also phong the characters.. thats what I did.. I can do those kinds of things.. I do that while maintaining performance in the game..

    We used to have a Radeon X1950 Pro. We ran CS:S with everything on High and 4xAA/8xAF, but now we are rocking 8xAA/16xAF. However, the biggest difference is that the 8800GT seems to have greater contrast and richer colors than the old ATi card.

    I remember like it was yesterday, that it was the beginning of this year, and you guys were like “Where are my flying cars, robots and shit, the future is a lie I’ve decided”. 5 months on, that’s still clear.

    Awesome! I noticed a huge difference with high AA/AF settings…a great feeling knowing that the only way lag can happen now is if the ‘net bogs down. Can’t wait to see Ep. 13!
