Smooth Few Films in the Press
Posted by Eddy in News, Screenshots, TheLeetWorld on Mar.17, 2008.
Apparently, we were recently mentioned on GamesRadar as the number two Halo 3 Machinima directors on the web. It’s a great review, and they have a lot of cool things to say about our work in the Halo engine. It seems that if we had done more, we might have snagged first place. To check out the article and see some other cool Halo stuff, read up on it at the Machinima Academy Awards. They even mention The Leet World series. It’s fun to see this kind of press, especially considering that Smooth Few Films was also mentioned in the April issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly for “A Day in the Life of a Turret”. Much thanks to the 1Up crew for that nod.
We are still toiling mightily on Episode Eleven, making a Herculean effort to get it out as soon as possible. There’s a delicate balance between working efficiently, quickly, but not rushing it to the point that you’re hurting the end product. So far, we’re happy with where the episode sits, and we’re nearing the finish line.
As always, we’ll let you know when we’re on the “eve” of release- we’ll be there any day now. Below are a few more screenshots from the episode.
More extras are on the way as well, including a little message from a couple of your beloved characters. Stay tuned!
Edit: Apparently, we were also noted in the UK PC Gamer. Thanks for the heads up guys!

“There’s a delicate balance between working efficiently, quickly, but not rushing it to the point that you’re hurting the end product.”
This is so true. Quality is what really matters. Even though some people want to see all of the episodes in a short period of time, the time that it takes to make an episode should not compromise the outcome. The Leet World series is great and it is nice to know that some care is being put into it.

I want to say congratulations to the ‘Smooth Few Films’ team for their recognition in other venues, helping to make them just that much more recognizable for their excellence in game-play film making, with direction, editing, story boards, humor, theme music and keeping the audience intrigued and always wanting more!
I do believe however, that your work for the Halo 3 episodes easily stand alone, well apart from the others, but if they have to be catergorized with the likes… easily 1st place, no question!
I appreciate the CS:S movies and shorts that are out there, but ‘The Leet World’ by far, surpasses all. I’ve been a fan ever since episode #3 (when I first found out about TLW) and always crave more, because I can see the growth in experience and maturity levels achieved with each new show. The character development is like no other and easily grabs any fans interest, picking favorites right from the go! For me, it was a combination of the direction and film-editing that grabbed me, and then on into the character’s themselves.. but I was amazed at how well put together the episodes were, as well as how damn funny the stories are and that’s what keeps me wanting more!
I sincerly hope that there will be more seasons to come and that maybe the possibilities arise for a syndicated series on cable at some point, making it just that much more exciting for you and all of us!
Either way, The Leet World and Smooth Few Films are “1337″ and I’m a big fan!
-Frost!
