Ever needed a weapon desperately, only to be told by the retailer that you couldn’t buy one without a pre-order? Or perhaps you keep wondering where all of the mom-and-pop gun and ammo stores went to? Then perhaps you’re familiar with GunStop, the dominant weapons retailer on XBox Live. This is a short filmed with the Halo 3 engine. For all you gamers that have had the pleasure of dealing with the store that is being parodied in this video, we trust that you can relate to some of the experiences inside.

Being in the UK. i guess i might not have got most of the gunstop and other gun store jokes. although i do get where the pre-order bit comes from “gun” here can be like that.

Very nice and well done. I liked the reference to Funcoland, its so true. The Gamestop closest to my home used to be Funcoland until purchased by gamestop.

It was funny, but I think you tried too hard to parody. I mean, parody is one of my favorite types of entertainment, but you just went overboard with “our goal is to rape the customers’ wallet” and “we must exert financial domination over all other companies”. Also, with the hardly-changed names, it almost seemed like product placement Gamefly. :V
The filming and angles and actions onscreen were good, but the script needs work.

GT, the video’s actually addressing the terrible GameStop line of strores and their terrible employees. Not all americans are trigger-happy yanks D:
As for the voice acting, the halo characters in Smooth Few Film’s videos are made and voiced by the same people doing the characters in TLW. So similarities are bound to be the same.

That was really quite excellent. I liked the Will Farell/Anchorman character. And then the other homage to anchorman which Im surprised no one has said anything about. The gunstore fight thing seemed to be a nod to the news station battle in Anchorman.

My local (the closest one anyway) Gamestop used to be a Funcoland. I didn’t know they were still around. And yeah, their used games cost about the same as new. And I wish they still sold the old games, thats what made them different. I remember being able to buy old NES games at the same time as Gamecube stuff, now they sell only newer games and consoles, like everyone else.

Sorry i mustn’t have made myself clear, i get the whole gunstop/gamestop thing, i did realise that it wasn’t an actual gun store!
As for the common voices you’ll note the comment “The apple never falls far from the tree” which means that i realised the voices are all done by the same people, hence them sounding v similar.

I’ve had this video on for so long, i love how the parodies of each game distributor is pretty much spot on. I love the characters, a little over embellished but i still find it funny every time.
