Blocked and Bustered

relaxJust wanted to write a quick update so you guys know that we’re alive and kicking. Due to the Memorial Day holiday weekend, we pretty much have been (mostly) on break for a few days, which was needed. The next month or so is going to murder us production-wise, so it was good to chill, play video games, and whatever else it is that three geeks do in their free time.

However, some work is still progressing in order to ensure that Episode 10 makes its debut next week. I spent Sunday cursing JJ (who wrote eps 8-10) for putting in the longest scene that required faceposer in the history of our simple machinima. Daniel spent some time working on some cool visual elements last week, and Nick is hard at work on the edit. In addition, we recorded some audio for Episode 11, which begins filming this weekend.

In other news, the summer movie season is just getting underway. So far, Star Trek serves as a proper example of how to reboot a franchise, while Terminator: Salvation is just the opposite. What summer movie are you guys looking forward to the most? At this point, my money’s all on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Terminator: Salvation was ok, I just had to turn off the part of my brain that evaluates dialogue. That movie had plenty of groaners; it started in the opening scene and didn’t stop. “Mmm, now I know what death tastes like.” Give me a break.

Anyways, I’m really looking forward to Transformers 2, almost unhealthily. District 9 looks to be overflowing with awesome sauce, so that’s a opening day for me as well. Tepidly anticipating G.I. Joe, and I’m going to see UP! this weekend.

(Speaking of District 9, go check this:

It’s called “Alive in Joburg”, sort of Neil Blomkamp’s concept piece for D9.)

Yeah, I haven’t been too excited about Up, but Pixar never seems to disappoint. Also, District 9 does look particularly sweet.

Yea i’m not looking forward to up cuz im not lookin forward and that awkward walk up the the movie theatre when i ask for one adult ticket to see UP.

but i agree on the harry potter front too cuz im just a fan in general. Nothing weird though!! my ceremonial wand and wizard remain hanging in my room.

anyway, im looking forward to the leet world episodes more than any stupid movie coming out…and im not just saying that

  4. Cortez

  5. PlAY3R

As much as I love the Harry Potter series, I have to say that after the second movie, I started to get very disappointed. Mostly because how F&*%ing badly they chopped up the books to make the movie scripts. While I can understand the need to cut it down so that the movie is of tolerable length, I still cringe at how many subplots are taken out. Not to mention how some of the transitions between certain points in the book are made in the movie, cutting out God knows how many chapters in the process. For those of you that enjoy the movies and have read the books, good for you, you’re definitely more tolerable than me.

G.I. Rise of the Cobra. It looks fricken’ awesome!! Star Trek was pretty cool too.

  8. Caboose271

I can’t wait for Transformers 2, especially since I’ve watched the first on movies channels at least 20 times. G.I. Joe looks freakin sweet too, I never saw that coming.

Well I haven’t seen Terminator yet, gotta see that. This summer I gotta see Transformers 2, GI joe:ROTC, harry potter, and of course: The Leet Movie.

    1. Eddy

Well, the Leet Movie won’t even begin work until the end of August, so unless your summer extends to the Winter months, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Public Enemies, which I believe is right around the corner, Transformers 2, and Harry Potter HBP. The G.I Joe movie is sending me mixed messages right now, I mean it has ‘splosions and all (I like ‘splosions) but I can’t quite take it seriously.

  11. SuperToaster

Yea, the Leet World movie looks like it’s gonna be a major event for us all. And G.I. Joe looks like it’s gonna be kick ass!

By the way, what is it going to be exactly? “The Leet World Movie”, “Leet World: The Movie”, or is it going to be something crazy like: “Smooth Few Films Presents: The Leet World Motion Picture: The Return of the… X(

I agree with you, mainly because I’m a little hardcore with keeping movies as close to the books as possible. Even though Alan Moore hated it, I thought that Watchmen exemplified that pretty well.

Looking forward to GI Joe and Transformers 2. Should be pretty flippin’ sweet.

You know what? The Harry Potter series started out kid friendly and didnt make you jump at all where as the new movies became more intense and violent :p

i have two things two say: 1. i cant wait to see transformers 2.i just read the first few comments and saw there is going to be a leet world movie around the begining of next year thats freakin awesome!!!!!

  22. Anonymous

just saw Wolverine…pretty sick. Good story line. Found some scenes where the effects were a bit cheesy but other than that, great movie.

  23. SuperToaster

I just saw Angels and Demons. It was very exciting and I loved it alot. But the movie I can’t wait to see the most is G.I. Joe. Screw Harry Bladder and Transmorphers. There are other way better movies coming out this year… and I think The Leet World Movie will be one of them!
