Thanks for all of the congratulatory posts regarding our news from last week. I really wish I could tell you guys some more, but unfortunately, that cat has to remain in the bag for just a little while longer. All I can say is that this new project is already starting to eat up all of our time, and will continue to do so for months to come. Funny enough, we are managing to put one time sucker to rest in exchange for a shinier one.
It is impacting the series finale (and already affected Episode 13) in a few ways, mainly in that it’s taking longer to make. We’re getting pretty close to being done filming it completely, and as I said before, I’ll let you guys know when we’re about a week away from release.
In the meantime, check out some new screenshots. They contain images of machinima ownage and dudes shooting at other dudes.
Also, has anyone seen District 9? I’m planning on going this weekend and I keep hearing great things. I have a condition where I ache to see awesome sci-fi action, and the movie appears to be able to scratch my itch in a meaningful way.

District 9 is a great sci-fi without a doubt. It is 100% worth seeing. I enjoyed most of it, and it seems to be the best movie so far this year. One thing is: its a much different impression than from the first trailer. In a way, this makes it better. Lots of action and humor in it. Definitely worth a watch.
As for the screenshots: Montrose is back, the Player bots are apparently easy to kill, Chet and Player fought their way thru a hail of gunfire into Noonien and are finding their way into the Producer’s place. Also, it should be noted that the Producer still has his immunity device from Dr. Soong. I think the Dr. Soong will betray the Producer to help his “creation”.

Yeah Eddy I saw District 9 on sunday and it blew my mind. Everything that director Peter Jackson does with that movie is new and inventive and you will leave the theater with your mind blown so hard that it ripped a hole in the back of your seat.

There is no Ep 15, I’m not sure where you’re getting that idea from. These screenshots are for Episode 14, the final episode of TLW, which isn’t out yet.

If you wanted to delay the finale a few days, sure. At this point anything extra that we do is just going to make the finale take even longer. We’re trying not to do that. 🙂

SCREENSHOT CONCLUSIONS
Went totally hardcore on this episode of Screenshot Conclusions and downloaded the pics for further review. Here’s what I saw:
1. Montrose is back, but where’s Ellis?! (bringing reinforcements?: Chet’s frat buddies, the Russians?) Plus, the Player army’s stuck to only pistols (zoom in to see).
2. Chet is visible, but Player isn’t. Possibly split up so they can trap the guards or some other diversion. Or, Player confronts the Producer.
3. Player is using the voice commands, but why if they’re trying to sneak in? Chet is holding something or reloading. Can anyone tell?
4. There is no fourth screenshot.
Connecting these screenshots with the last ones we got for this episode, I wondered how Player and Chet got through all those guards then into the building.

I don’t even know how to respond to this. We’ve put important stuff on hold for Leet World long enough, I think. The fact that we’re breaking our backs to do both at the same time should count for something.

You do realize, of course, that you are essentially asking them to put their career advancement on hold for you. That’s more than a little bit presumptuous. In the real world, there are things called priorities, man, and right now the deal in question is a big damn priority.
To be quite blunt, the only reason you are getting as much Leet World as you are getting is because the guys love the show and want to do right by the fans. They are working some insane hours to get everything done.
Does that help you understand why your comment is so very infuriating and disrespectful?

They can post the season finale sooner or later. But as for the “Deal”, if they don’t do well, well… they lose it.

Alright I’m going to make some more screenie assumptions now that I’m not falling asleep at my desk 🙂
Montrose is back, more than likely using his trademark AK-47. Looks like he walked all the way around the house from where he was in the last video to get to that vantage point, which seems odd to me since if he were to attack from where he was, he’d get to attack from behind, but perhaps there was something stopping him. The players are only using the USP, which is a great pistol if you’re a good aim, so who knows how well that’ll work. Doesn’t look like it’s working very well though.
In the second screenie I boosted the brightness and lowered the contrast in photoshop to see what Chet is holding. It’s still really hard to tell if it’s a P90 or a shotgun (reducing the contrase on something that is completely black otherwise doesn’t usually result in a perfect picture). Also I just now noticed that the guards in the deathroom are supposed to be like the two guards that the Domination Man flayed in episode 1-6. Awesome upgrade to that.
The third screenshot, I did the contrast thing and found that Chet is holding an HE Grenade. Looks like Player is shouting radio commands.
There’s not a whole lot I can get from the last two screenshots, since everybody already knows that they’re attacking the death room and the screenshots really just show that: them attacking the deathroom. If I had to guess anything, during the part where Chet and Player running down the stairs (from the last batch of screenshots), player is going to pull something like in the last challenge and become an immediate pistol sniper and take down the soldiers almost immediately, to Chet’s amazement.
Another note is that since the last season ended with a nuke going off in the deathroom, I’m surprised there’s not a whole destroyed section of it being shown, but then again the whole place is likely either indestructable or just so huge and complex that the whole place where the nuke went off is nowhere near where everybody has been going. After all, didn’t they say that the place is like a maze?
Also with the whole Ahmad buisness, I have to say that Smooth Few Films has done it again. Everybody was saying he would come back, I kept on thinking it would cheapen the death immensely. While now the episode where he died will have much less effect on me when I go back and watch it, Smooth Few has once again made their show in a way that even if I thought that there was no way to do it right, they did it right. The way Ahmad came back was perfect. Kudos, again, and even more drinks. Though this means that there might be a return of Asher, but there’s a chance that he was so robotic that he doesn’t even count as a life to go to the death room (similarly to the hostages, since they seem to be the same type of thing). I’m not going to be quick to say that he doesn’t come back though, since that does sound like the sucker punch Smooth Few would throw at us, and the probably give us the knee to the stomach that would be the return of Domination Man. You beat the hell out of us, but we know you only do it because you love us 😀
If you actually stuck through this entire brainstorm of my random speculations and you’re Eddy or any of the guys at SFF, I just want to say: Thank you for years of entertainment. I’ve been watching for like two years now or so (since the first challenge at de_dust2, how long ago was that), and I’ve eagerly waited for each episode and stuck with you throughout the whole show. I’ve introduced your site to tens of my friends and got them hooked as well. I’ve waited eagerly to see what the back-lash would be that Ahmad joined the CT’s, I’ve waited to see what the hell that Nova Prospekt guard is all about, I’ve waited to see what will happen with Ahmad’s hacks, I’ve waited to see just what will happen when Mendoza comes back, I’ve waited to see who that Kleiner model was at the end of the first season, I’ve waited to see what would happen now that the terrorists came back, I’ve waited to see what would happen now that Leeroy is siding with the terrorists, I’ve waited to see what would happen now that Asher seems to be taking over the show… and every time I’ve waited, I was rewarded better than I could have ever hoped for with top-notch machinema, story-arcs, music, and best of all the comedy and characters within the show. You’ve created characters and voices now commonly associated with the CS:S player models. You’ve made being a 1337-5P34K1N6, noobish SAS model named PLAYER stylish again. You’ve made the Leet model combined with a throaty, spanish accent the symbol of badassery. You’ve made the GIGN model mixed with a Westheimer voice (I have no idea how else to describe it) the symbol of leadership. You’ve made the Guerilla model gay but lovable (two things I never expected the Guerilla model to be capable of). You’ve made the GSG9 model always seem like a nerdy WoW geek. You’ve made the Phoenix Connection model seem nooby and unaware, no matter what he does. You’ve made the Urban model into the party master of the century. You’ve made the arctic model into a wise-cracking southerner. You’re influence goes even well beyond that, making the G-Man model recognizable as The Producer or Kleiner recognizable as Dr. Soong, or even the Nova Prospekt guard recognizable as the Domination Man. You’ve created in-jokes, like people saying “Mendoza” and the chat being suddenly spammed with “NEVER SAY HIS NAME” or “:O”. I even hear people playing the Leet World theme over their mics or on HLSS/HLDJ from time to time.
So just remember, for better or for worse (almost entirely for better), you’ve influenced the CS:S community like nothing I’ve ever seen. When you look back on that fun online multiplayer game that is Counter-Strike, think of how you touched the community with your series and brought each character of CS:S an identity. I’m honored that the captains of this ship have driven me this far, and now that this last trip may be our last, I am still excited to see where it will go. Then we’ll all hop into another boat sponsored by whatever deal SFF is working with now 🙂

Thanks! Yeah, basically, last year we should have just named the finale parts as individual episodes, as opposed to making one episode with 3 parts. So that’s what we’re doing this year, only the finale is 2 parts instead of 3.

Well, I’m gonna reply anyway. I believe you had good intentions with that, but just keep in mind that these guys have lives too, and that they’re putting aside a lot of things just so that they could feed our leet hunger. I know the feeling, I used to do a similar thing, except it wasn’t machinima.
In any case, there is a Serbian saying that you should always keep in mind: “Ispeci, pa reci” which means “Bake it, then say it.” Essentially, think about or review what you are about to say. 🙂

District 9 is amazing!!! As a training graphic designer, interested in animation etc. I was really impressed with the graphics in District 9, which i understand to be the work of WETA studios, where i live in New Zealand!! WOHOOO! Its sooooo my dream to work there!!

Yes, Player did get it from his core, but he had to learn how to speak before he could, because his mind was a clean slate when he was manufactured.

I just saw D-9. It was awesome. If anyone hasn’t seen it, do so now. There was a few problems though. Like since the aliens had such l33t guns, why didn’t they just demand a nice place to live? Or humans to leave them alone?

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, I’m not that good at forums. I posted tons of discussions all over the Net (Google, Yahoo!, Ubuntu, etc.) that I haven’t got back to yet. But I think I’ll try.
