Ad Dudes and Announcements

Mad MenAfter a couple of weeks off to catch back up on the show, we now return with Episode 24 of Web Zeroes, Adverse Effects. In this episode, we see the guys deal with the surprise of incorporating ads into their show, and what all that means for the road ahead. Naturally, there are schemes and jokes, and things continue to progress with Alex’s co-workers as well, which will lead up to a spectacular season finale, if I do say so myself.

Many big thanks to JJ, who penned a great episode yet again. Also, I’d like to give a shout out to Miguel, who plays Scott, and did a fantastic job. Give those two guys a hand, as well as Jace, who always kills it each week on the musical front. These people are like ninjas at their crafts, so it’s cool that I know ninjas, I think.

And now for some news…

The season 2 finale (Episode 25) will also be the finale of the show itself. Next week will mark the end of Web Zeroes. We’ve known that’s how it was going to be for a month or so now, but couldn’t really talk about it until the release of this episode. I wish we could have told you guys sooner, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. I think it’s important to note that ending the show is our decision, mostly because it has just been too exhausting to do the show as a part time job in addition to our day jobs. We’re thankful to Revision3 for the opportunity to broadcast this show to a much bigger audience than we had before, and for allowing us the privilege of being their first scripted series.

What does this mean for the future of Smooth Few Films? Well, we’re not entirely sure. We need a few months off to sort things out, take some rest and then go from there. I’ll be talking about that more in a future post, but I’ll go ahead and say that it does not mean the return of Leet World. In fact, this experience has convinced us more than ever that we have to go about things differently in the future. But as I said, we’ll be talking about that more later.

For now, enjoy the episode, because I think it’s a good one. And if you live in Texas, you should go read up about our Web Zeroes Wrap Party, and come hang out with us.

Watch, spread the word, and enjoy, dudes. Also, thanks for watching. We really appreciate it.

OH GOD WHY!!!!!!! NOT AGAIN I CANT TAKE ANOTHER AMAZING SHOW LEAVING. Its bad enough leetworld is gone 🙁

  2. TheHiddenOne

Wow, kind of shocked about the next episode being the last one. I thought everything was going well on your end with taking care of the show.

Can’t say I’m happy that the show is ending, but I understand why you guys are ending it. Take a rest you guys, you’ve earned it. Hopefully this isn’t the end of smooth few films, but I support what you guys choose to do 100%.

  3. cjMason

Well guys, I honestly thought this series would end on the beginning of Leet World haha.

Yea, I thought the last episode would be your own journeys that began with releasing the first episode of Leet World, maybe some real behind the scenes, but anyway, fan speculation is irrelevant now, it seems.

Web Zeroes was a good run, I enjoyed it, even when sometimes I didn’t, because I just have a respect for you guys. You’ve proved your worth with 2 great seasons of 2 great shows, and everything ends sooner or later.

Like TheHiddenOne said, I hope this isn’t the end of SmoothFewFilms. You’ve been a source for inspiration to me and I eagerly await your next project 🙂

    NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnnnnOO!!!!! >.<

Seriously, you guys've made some awesome stuff over the years. I've been watching your shows since the release of the second episode of tLW, and I've enjoyed every second of it. Not just the stufdf you've made, but you guys; how you respond to our questions and ramblings, and how you give of yourself. I really really really hope, deep inside my very being, that this is not the end of the Smooth Few. If so, it will be the end of an era.

    Kudos, guys.

Well once again it was a good run but had to end for one reason or another so cheers to you guys for working so hard to make another awesome show and happy Canada day.

Aww man, shame that this show will be ending sooner than I thought. I was actully hoping that your characters really do make it big and get famous, just like in your opening title. But I’m glad I stuck around to enjoy this show while it lasted. I’m also happy that you guys are finally able to wrap up this show the way you wanted it too. You guys have made it far and done so much, plus I’ve been laughing with you guys since episode one. Webzeroes was a webshow in which the likes I have never experienced before. Seriously great job fellas, and best luck on your future creations!

Aw man that sucks that Web Zeroes is ending, I loved that show. I do understand that your point that It would be too much work doing the show and having another job at the same time. Hope to see more from smoothfewfilms in the future.

It doesn’t really suck that its ending, because it had to happen sooner or later. I have a feeling that the last episode will be great, like all its predecessors, and that their next series (if there is one) will be awesome too 🙂

  11. Eddy

Thanks for all the kind words today, dudes. It means a lot. You were a lot more understand and encouraging than the YouTube folk, haha. Next week’s episode is going to be great. Can’t wait to share it with you.

You’re welcome. Thanks for the excellent ride, I can’t wait for the finale, it’s going to be epic 🙂

I can’t help but wonder what the future may hold… But alas, it’s time to move on from Web Zeroes, as it was time to move on from TLW. Thank you for your dedication and awesometacularness, SFF. You will forever hold a special place in my memory for all the cool and inspirational things you’ve done 🙂

Hell, I’ve even started my own series ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbuH-3Levpk ). Sure it sucks a little, but it’s my first attempt at doing something with a good storyline outside of writing 🙂

  13. RGamesINC

Well, I can’t hold it against you guys that you’re ending your own show on your own terms, but I feel really disappointed. It wasn’t all that long ago that Leet World ended and now Web Zeroes is ending too, it’s kind of hard on me as a fan, especially with the news of the next episode being the last episode of Web Zeroes being so abruptly dropped like this. If you guys continuing making any videos, I hope it’s not another series, because I really don’t think I can get into another one of your shows that end so early. I suppose it’s just too bad that you guys have been given the gift of having such awesome stuff to produce without the gift to produce it easily, and that’s no fault of yours, but it still feels like Leet World all over again, except more abrupt and sudden. Well, in any case, good luck on your future endeavors, and I hope you guys don’t disband your team of awesome.

    1. Eddy

Trust me, we’re right there with you RGamesInc. We’ve worked really hard for about 3 years now, and we keep hitting dead ends. It really means a lot that people like you have hung around for this long. Like I said, we don’t know what the future will bring, but we’ll take some time to just have fun and then go from there.

  14. uncachable

Sad that this show has to go to. But as RGamesINC said, I hope you guys don’t split up just yet.

I’ll be patient on whatever you guys do next as much as I am for Half-Life 2: Episode 3. 🙂

  15. Corsair

    Well crap. 🙁

That’s all I can say really. Got no other way of explaining how I feel.

@- Anonymous – Indeed I did know that.

Just to throw it out there, have you guys considered doing a full length feature like what lit fuse films did with War of the Servers? I know it’d be in a game but its a floor I think you guys would dominate at and it would be really interesting to see a full length again.
Who knows, maybe a leet world movie 😛

  17. theodoh

Well guys, I guess all great things must come to an end. I really respect and appreciate the shows, both of them. It’s been a lot of fun for me and all the friends that I watch the shows with. I’m not going to ask you guys to do more because I understand the time and effort it takes to create something like this.
Thank you guys, I look forward to the next episode and the hundreds of re-watches to follow. Y’all are awesome.
Also, I’d like to mention that when I say ‘you guys’ I’m not just talking about Nick, Eddy, and Daniel. Having met Jace I give a special thanks for the talk, advice and wisdom, but I also have to give thanks to everyone else that helped out with the show. I really appreciate all of it.
Thanks again guys, it’s been fun.

  18. Husky77

Sad about the show, Seems like you guys already kicked us in the balls once by ending one good show, only to have it again. Also, what happened to the store? I really wanted to buy the TLW soundtrack.

I think I can safely say that a full-length machinima is not in the cards. That’s a whole lot of work to put into something that you can’t license or sell. Also, you already know the answer about a Leet World movie. The circumstances haven’t changed there.

  20. awsomo

you know, im really sad that you guys are ending webzeroes. in my opinion it is one of the best things of ever seen on youtube, the other being leet world. i stuck with you through the leet world(and the ending)and ill stick with you through the ending of webzeroes. you guys have been an insperation to me to make my own internet series and ill support you in any decisions you make. thanks for the great shows.

Since you brought up things you can license or sell, is there any possibility that you guys could make a web zeroes dvd?

  22. Ronstar258

webzeroes dvd, leetworld dvd, i mean hey, if you ever need money i bet u can get a lot o ppl to buy either one or the other, or probably both lol.

Not that that probably isnt more work than what uve been thru already. Just saying i’d buy em if u did it before i spent all my money on fast food and gasoline for my car to get to the fast food places.

i’d say u have about 3 days LOL.

take care of urselves and for god’s sake take a vacation, you’ve earned it lol

yo if there was a DVD, I would buy it so fast, that…well……k I would buy it really fast ok?
If DVD is possible, like with eps and soundtrack and outtakes on it…would be awesomeness

  24. Aaron Clark

I would also love to see G.R.I.E.F. revisited, but I would totally understand if you guys decided not to make machinima anymore.

I’m really looking forward to the finale tomorrow. Knock it out of the park motherfuckers.
