Leeroy’s Masterpiece

We promised it when we released Episode 10, so here it is: the premier of Leeroy’s short film, “Conform”.

[Sarcasm]Β  It is a heartfelt drama about… well, really, you’ll just have to watch it for yourselves. Leeroy’s a deep thinker, you see, and that kind of stuff just goes over my head.

Other quotes about the movie:

“NeEDS MOAR SeTS!11!”- Player

“A digimal triumph.”- Ellis

“I don’t know what the f— this movie is about.”- Chet

Try to enjoy. You won’t be able to if you’re not artsy enough. At least, that’s what Leeroy told us.[/Sarcasm] Also, expect some more extras by the end of the week.

FYI- This movie is a joke. It’s supposed to be bad.

I think I know what it’s about. I think it’s about conformity to the point of death, like how a sheep would throw itself off of a cliff like all the other sheep. Am I right? πŸ˜€

i love that this has gotten such a huge reaction… clearly all of those weird ideas i’ve got stored up need to be written so that they can confuse everyone, much like this.

This is the type of film that needs to discussed while drinking coffee at Starbucks. It’s the only way one can truly analyze the social commentary of this indie masterpiece.

*(I know its meant to be sarcastic and not mean anything, but I’m going to analyze it because I want to.)*

I think its generally meant to symbolize the constant struggle of a confused individual trying to find their place in a world controlled by mainstream trends.

The word “conform” in different languages is supposed to show that it isn’t any different, no matter where you are around the world.

Ellis is the outsider, and Leeroy’s only line “conform” is supposed to be the peer pressure on Ellis, Leeroy is in the mainstream fashion trying to get Ellis to be just like him.

The suicide at the end, I think symbolizes the degree of which these confused people’s actions go to. Many adolescents commit suicide because of stress, pressure, and stuff like that.

The shot of Ellis walking backwards, might be him trying to find what really fits him, instead of the big trend, or just a random action in his confusion and/or stupidity.

    Very nice. πŸ˜€

Any person can look at this as art, and describe it if they had the mind to.
Otherwise, it’s what the authors intended.
    A masterpiece.[/sarcasm]

All I have to say is… Sharky, you get way too into it, and I am sooo not Leeroy.(inside joke, which is not funny at all.)
But yet I must analyze this myself.

Here is my first scenario: Ellis is wandering around, everywhere, going nowhere in particular, walking backwards and what not. And Leeroy tells him “Conform,” which means,”Dude, conform.” And so Ellis doesn’t and he gets hanged by Leeroy for not conforming. In this case Conform means conforming to laws and or rules and maybe even civilization. (A good reference to this is Coldplay’s Scientist music video, where the entire time the lead singer is doing everything backwards, yet singing normally.)

Second scenario: Ellis is wandering about trying to find a way to conform, and when Leeroy tells him “Conform” it was a flashback. Thus, Ellis cannot find himself to conform, so he gives up ultimately, by hanging himself.

And my third scenario: Ellis is having his life pass before him just before he decides to hang himself and he goes back to the reason why, because he cannot conform, as Leeroy my boy has told him. This is much like Sharky’s explanation, i.e. Ellis is a lost cause. (this scenario is just a mix up of second one, because anything goes, eh?)

I do have to criticize my good friend Sharky on this, I do believe that on any of these scenarios I have brought forth, the explanation for Ellis being hanged can be switched in and out, whether he was hung, or he hung himself.

The true reason that I believe this movie was put out is, because… Do you know how much time it took to make this movie? Ha, its only 15 different shots, its a bit random, but thats how its funny. The authors probably didn’t intend any secret meanings behind this movie, like **GASP** Ellis dying (as in, cut from the show), or anything major, its just a “Hey, the characters were making a movie… how about we finish it up?”

I might post more scenarios if you truly want to know the meaning of Ellis’s death.
