The Hunt for Red Bot-tober.

huntHere’s Season 2, Episode 12 of The Leet World, I, Cyborg. This takes us right up to the edge of the finale, which will be a two parter to close out the series. Weird, huh?

So in this episode, the cast deals with some of Leeroy’s more WTF-inducing revelations, namely that they’ve got a homicidal psycho killer cyborg living amongst them. Some guys say some things to each other, there’s also some gun toting, a few chuckles, and even another WTF or two, because we throw those things out with no regard for human life. Or cyborg life, if that’s your style.

Anywho, check out the TLW premiere page if you’re looking for the higher res version of the episode, or just hit the jump to see the normal one.

Blowing Stuff Up

will-smithHappy late Will Smith Weekend to you all. Or as some would like to call it, Independence Day. I know some of you don’t hail from these great states of ours, but I’m a wisher of well all the same. I hope you got to blow some stuff up for freedom.

There hasn’t been an update in awhile because there’s not a whole lot to say. We’ve been eating, sleeping and fondling production for the last couple of weeks. And not just on TLW, but more on that later. Episode 12 marches inexorably towards its fated release day, which should be at some point over the weekend. It’s currently in post production while we film Episode 13. Or rather, part one (of two) of the finale.

As far as a general FYI goes, you might notice that all comments now go to moderation before being posted on the site. We’re trying to raise the level of discourse around here, so play nice, have something worthwhile to say, and your post will go through with no problems. There will be some other changes coming to the site shortly after the season, and we’ll give you a heads up when the time comes.

Episode Wranglers

I know I’ve said it before, but the general rule around here is that the more busy we are, the quieter we tend to be. Coming up on the twelfth episode of Season 2 is no exception. With Daniel still out of town and gallivanting around movie sets like some cinema cowboy, we’re left scrambling to finish the season. But it’s a good kind of scramble. Like eggs.

It’s hard to believe there are just a couple more episodes left, but that’s the way we roll, I guess. Thanks to you dudes that have stuck it out so far for this absurd machinima. Anywho, here are some screenshots from the next episode.

That last one is a major tease, am I right?

Metal Gear Leeroy

mgsHere’s Episode 11 of Season 2, Death’s Dungeon, and boy are we getting close to the finish line. Only two more episodes left for the season.

In this chapter, we find out what Leeroy has been up to since he left the house, and finally get some answers regarding the greater mystery surrounding the Producer. Leeroy’s very Solid Snake about it, too. Check it out on the TLW premiere page to see a bigger version, and for the love of all things holy, clear your cache if you’re seeing the old video still.

If that’s not your cup of tea, though, you can just hit up the jump to see the regular version.

Respect the Whedon

joss-whedonA somewhat big event took place in Episode 10, Wake Me Up Before You Go. The passing of a character in any show is always a big stinking deal, and it was no less so for us here at Smooth Few Films. We’ve been plotting and scheming this for well over a year now, and seeing it on screen was strange, awesome and sad.

I figured we’d have a fun discussion about it. However, since there are no doubt some of you who haven’t seen the episode yet, I’ll go ahead and put the rest of this post behind the jump. Beware. There be spoilers beyond these parts.

Dude Council

lotrA huge thanks to all of you TLW-ites who watched and commented on Episode 10, Wake Me Up Before You Go. Some mighty wild things happened in that episode, things we’ve been planning for quite some time. We’ll hopefully get into that more in the next couple of days (once a few more of you have had a chance to watch it), and have some cool character discussions.

Daniel’s out of town right now, but Nick and I have been working diligently to keep the machine moving. Currently, we’re in the midst of several things such as faceposing, Hammer-ing and editing Episode 11. Also, I’m working on getting a final draft for Episode 12. It’s certainly both madness and Sparta, but I think it helps that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The next episode is interesting in that it’s kind of the “Council of Elrond” episode. Lots of information. Maybe you understand that nerdy reference, maybe you don’t. Either way, here are some screenshots.

Spooky, scary. In other news, I plan to get some outtakes done soon, but the last couple of episodes have been faceposer/Hammer heavy, and I figured you would all appreciate me helping get the episodes out faster rather than working on those. And yes, those things are mutually exclusive.

Last Action Hero

We now present to you Season 2, Episode 10, Wake Me Up Before You Go. This is a pretty big one, and you’ll see why when you watch it. Next to Episode 7 and the Finale, it’s maybe the biggest of the season. Be careful when reading comments, as there will be spoilers run amok. We even disabled the “recent comments” feature on the sidebar in order to prevent accidental spoil-age.

In this episode, we see what happens when Asher goes rogue, and the consequences unleashed upon the cast. Be sure to check out the wicked TLW Premiere Page to watch a higher res version. Clear your cache if the page is still showing the old episode.

Or just hit the jump to see the normal version!

6/7 EDIT: A few have mentioned that the audio mix had some issues. It’s updated now. Watch the episode again!

The Most Wonderful Time…

e3I think E3 week is probably one of the coolest times of the year. It’s like Christmas, but for nerds. If you’re unaware or have been living under Nick’s beard, E3 is a massive video game expo that happens around June. There’s nothing like hearing all the gaming news and announcements such as Left 4 Dead 2, Halo: Reach and then some. If you aren’t aware of what you missed today, you should definitely go catch up.

In other news, the next post on this fair site will be the long-awaited Episode 10 of Season 2. The Leet World’s got a few watershed episodes, and I believe this to be one of them. I can’t wait for you guys to see it. Don’t punch yourself waiting for it, though.

Daniel’s out of town for the next few weeks or so, but Nick has been busy editing while I move forward on Episode 11 assets. In the meantime, here are some last-minute screenshots of Episode 10 to hold you over until the big release.

You have been teased.

Blocked and Bustered

relaxJust wanted to write a quick update so you guys know that we’re alive and kicking. Due to the Memorial Day holiday weekend, we pretty much have been (mostly) on break for a few days, which was needed. The next month or so is going to murder us production-wise, so it was good to chill, play video games, and whatever else it is that three geeks do in their free time.

However, some work is still progressing in order to ensure that Episode 10 makes its debut next week. I spent Sunday cursing JJ (who wrote eps 8-10) for putting in the longest scene that required faceposer in the history of our simple machinima. Daniel spent some time working on some cool visual elements last week, and Nick is hard at work on the edit. In addition, we recorded some audio for Episode 11, which begins filming this weekend.

In other news, the summer movie season is just getting underway. So far, Star Trek serves as a proper example of how to reboot a franchise, while Terminator: Salvation is just the opposite. What summer movie are you guys looking forward to the most? At this point, my money’s all on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Battle Royale

bruce-willisIf you follow us on twitter, then you’d know that Episode 10 is shaping up to be a beast of a different sort. Imagine a hulking brute that spits acid and isn’t intimidated by Nick’s beard and then you know what you’re dealing with. It is unruly and grotesque. In a good way.

Anywho, part of the reason for this is that it has quite a humongous action sequence in it, and before I get carried away with superlatives, I will just say that it might own you. We’re big fans of action films (if you can’t tell), so this is always a treat for us. By the way, the picture is from Die Hard, so if you haven’t seen it, I might ban you. Welcome to the party, pal.

Here are some screenshots from Episode 10. I had to work very hard to find ones that don’t give anything away. There’s just way too much to spoil.

Hope you enjoy the tease.
