Weekend Warriors

Been a busy weekend around these parts. Spent some time shooting the third episode of Web Zeroes, which was a good time. Also, Nick and I spent most of the shoot singing Werewolf Bar Mitzvah. By the way, 30 Rock is maybe the funniest show on TV.

Not only have we filmed the next episode of Web Zeroes, we’re finishing out Episode 2 of Season 2 of The Leet World. I’m thinking you guys will enjoy this one, and it certainly feels more like a normal episode after the tumultuous ride in the premiere. Should be up in the next couple of days.

Be sure to watch the Spike Video Game Awards tonight. They’ve been lame in past years, but hopefully they’ll be a little bit better tonight, along with some cool trailers for new games.

Oh, and TheDuoGroup has added a new short. Watch and enjoy the Halo 3 goodness.

A G.R.I.E.F. Update

So if you haven’t guessed already, G.R.I.E.F. is on hold indefinitely. Now that we’re working hard on Web Zeroes and The Leet World, adding one more thing into the mix is going to bring down the quality of all of the projects. We are but mere men after all, though I am somewhere close to troll-ish in nature.

We’ve filmed part of the first episode, but it’s a very ambitious endeavor, so we’re just going to stick it on the backburner until we find some time for it. Who knows, maybe our new TLW method rocks our socks off and we have all kinds of free time to make Halo 3 machinima in addition to our other stuff. And play video games.

We’re also hard at work on Episode 3 of The Leet World, filming and doing all kinds of Counter-Strike things. Episode 2 is coming sometime in the next week, and I think you dudes will enjoy it. Web Zeroes short in the next few days.

Prepare for lulz in 3…2…

The Beard’s Birthday

This past Saturday, our beloved friend and resident editor extraordinaire Nick had himself a little birthday. Do wish him a happy one. He deserves it.

Anyone buying The Dark Knight on DVD/BluRay this week? Count me in for BluRay.

Our first GamerSushi review is up. Go check it out!

Some cool stuff coming over the week. Stay tuned!

Rolling on the Second

We’re incredibly relieved that Season Two has made its debut, after months of planning and a few weeks of diligent production. What was cool about Episode 1 was that it was technically finished last Tuesday, but we were able to spend a couple of days polishing and tweaking some of the edit. Plus, there was that day where we gorged like heifers.

Episode Two rolls onward. Because of our new production method of filming three and four episode chunks, we’re currently in the middle of shooting the third episode while the second is in post. Hot stuff.

I know a few of you are asking about when it’s coming out, but we’re still not sure yet. There are a lot of factors that go into releasing an episode, and getting them all to coincide is like conjuring some exotic spell from a bubbling cauldron. Dumbledore’s wand, etc.

I promised some screenshots from Episode Two, and here they are.

Enjoy. Also, I just added a sweet feature to GamerSushi about gaming’s best guns. FPS for the win. Go check it out!

Machinima for Charity, One Shared Vision

Just wanted to give you guys a head’s up about One Shared Vision, a totally sweet machinima project put together by several machinimakers in the community, with the goal of letting people know about Child’s Play, a charity that donates games to children in hospitals.

Each week, a new machinima will be out, promoting Child’s Play and also providing some bueno holiday entertainment and/or lulz. That’s a proper film making term, be tee dub.

Smooth Few Films is a part of this project, and you will see a short from us later this month. It might star some of your favorite TLW dudes.

For now, enjoy the launch of One Shared Vision by watching this video from machinima dude supreme Phil Rice, and be sure to find out more about Child’s Play to help! It’s an excellent charity that raises millions of dollars worth of games for sick kids in hospitals.

Seriously, the ending slays me every time.

Welcome, Season 2 of The Leet World

And… we’re back. Hope you enjoyed the awesome premiere page that Nick and Jeff set up.

After a few months of waiting, Season 2 is now here. Episode 1, The Return, kick starts the season, introducing some of the elements that are going to become increasingly important as the story rolls on. This builds into a truly epic round of episodes, and I think any of you interested in our story will enjoy the roller coaster ride that is The Leet World.

Because of how we’re developing the show this time around, we’re hoping Episode 2 will be available in just a couple of short weeks. More Web Zeroes content is on its way next week, as well as more TLW screenshots. Video after the jump!

Remember, if the video hasn’t loaded all the way, it might be a tad jumpy. Just pause and let it finish loading all the way to ensure the smoothest playback experience. Enjoy and please comment.

Happy Turkey Day!

Yeah, I know I’m a day early but I’ll be gone tomorrow, so I wanted to just leave a quick note for you guys. Episode 1 is racing to the finish line, and before you even know it, your eyes will be feasting on more of The Leet World story as it continues on into our second season. I’ve got to say, we’re totally pumped about the overall direction this season is going, and we can’t wait to jump into it with you guys.

In other news, the day that the premiere drops on the site will be an event, and you’ll see what I mean when it happens. All I can say about that is that Nick and his beard are my heroes.

I’m going to be playing the junk out of Left 4 Dead this weekend in addition to getting fat. Can’t wait!

Happy Turkey Day, dudes!

Season 2 Announcement

So there’s a fun article over at GamerSushi about Valve, Half-Life 2, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and how Valve might be the best storytellers in the gaming business. Go read it.

And now on to more important things…

We’re ridiculously close to Season 2 of The Leet World. Stupid close, even. Perhaps burro close, but that could be stretching it. As I’ve said before, whenever no posts are happening on the front page, that means that there’s probably a lot going on in our silly machinima production realm. We’re pounding away at finishing Episode 1, and we’ve even started doing some work on Episode 3 at this point.

There’s also a new commercial from the CT’s for you to watch. Those guys have been getting around lately, doing lots of promotions. Maybe the stress is getting to them? Soon though, they’ll be back in their natural habitat. Video after the jump!

Of Spies and Men

Thanks for the great response to Web Zeroes, Episode 2. Web Zeroes episodes are always a tad more nerve wracking to release because it really is putting a bit more of us out there than our machinima. I mean, obviously. But then again, you get to see Nick’s beard, so I guess it all evens out. Were it not for that beard, perhaps many of you would have been turned off to the show’s charm. Sometimes I want to wear it like a parka.

In other news, we are hard at work on the first few episodes of The Leet World, Season 2. Obviously, I don’t want to spoil any kind of “secritz”, but we’re working on something fun for the first episode’s release. Mark my words, you might get excited enough to punch a puppy when you see what I’m talking about. And not to leave you hanging with that tease, here’s another one. Or three, to be exact:

Have fun with those. Those are like, sneaky James Bond style screenshots.

By the way, downloads for Web Zeroes are coming today at some point, we just got so caught up in working on Season 2 that we literally just forgot. I’m assuming we’ll be forgiven for that. If not, tough enchiladas.

Indecision Men

Now presenting Episode 2 of Web Zeroes: Writer’s Block. We filmed this a few weeks back, and have been waiting to release it because of the teaser for Season 2 of The Leet World. This episode deals with Nate, Ray and Alex as they try to decide the direction of the story for their new show. Unfortunately, idiocy and sheer confusion hamper their progress, as always. And maybe a little Guitar Hero, for good measure.

I have to admit, it’s still funny to see ourselves on camera after a year of doing zany voices for an over-the-top reality show in Counter-Strike: Source, but so far, we’re enjoying the Web Zeroes vibe. The reception so far has been awesome, so feel free to watch and comment away.

As Arnold would say, stick around over the weekend for an update on Season 2 of TLW. Also, make me some chicken noodle soup, for I am overcome with disease and illness from Daniel. Thanks, Daniel. And a real big thanks go out to our bud Alex, who once again did a sweet job helping us out with the sound.

View the episode after the jump!
