The Golden Arcs

l4dFebruary is kind of a weird month, as different people are out of town on different weekends, but we’ll do our best to manage. That’s how we roll.

Been doing some solid TLW work this week, both in Hammer and with some script-writing. In addition, you guys should have some audio outtakes at some point this weekend from the last two TLW episodes.

I’m kind of excited about this. Yay Left 4 Dead DLC and its zombie goodness. When I’m not working on SFF stuff, I’m playing it, or Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3.

When we released Episode 4, I mentioned that this season is being developed in 3-4 episode arcs. Basically, we are making one arc at a time, and trying to stay ahead that way. It’s essentially how we made the finale, as one gigantic episode split into 3 parts. Thinking about this, it made me wonder what everyone’s favorite “arcs” were so far in The Leet World. So, vote and tell us!

What is your favorite TLW story arc?

The Bro Down

fightAs promised, here is Season Two, Episode Four of The Leet World, Fight Nubs, ready for your hungry watching eyes. In this episode, we see the ramifications of a certain cast member’s actions, in more ways than one. It’s definitely got some lol-worthy moments, so I hope you guys enjoy it.

Be sure to visit the Season 2 premiere page to see a higher-res version of the episode. I’m a big fan of the page, and still love Nick to this day for making it. It helps Season 2 episodes feel more like an event, in my mind, which is exactly what we like. Click here to watch it.

Or if you just want to watch it the normal way, the video is waiting for you after the jump.

Avatars on SmoothFewFilms

gravatarI’m seeing lots of people with little ghost faces next to their names here, so I figured it was time for another update on how to add pictures to your profile at SmoothFewFilms.

The process is easy. Just go to Gravatar and register for an account with the same e-mail address you used for this site, and you’re good to go. Add a picture to your account there, and it should show up here and any other site that uses Gravatar. It’s seriously the easiest sign up process ever in the history of dude-kind.

It’d be nice to see some shiny new avatars for all of those comments on Season 2, Episode 4 of TLW, which will be here within the next couple of days.

Go forth and register, and be ye anonymous no more.

Traitorous Nerd

portal-turretIs it really almost February? About a year ago at this time, we released the Portal video and got our site shut down by a flurry of visitors, who picked our site clean and left its carcass to dry. And then we moved on to Episode 9 of the first season.

The next episode of Season Two is going to hit in just a few days, so be ready for it. We’re kind of kicking ass production-wise right now. In fact, we’re already doing some pre-production on Episode Six.

Basically, we are slapping episodes with our pimp hands and then riding the wave. Ok, that last stuff isn’t true. Anywho, here’s a poll to ponder in the meantime. Log-in first, and then vote:

Did Leeroy do the right thing at the end of Season 2, Episode 3?

The Leet World Fan Works

tlw203So Episode 3 is going to be here in the next few days. Sweet. And rad.

Thanks for all of you who have voted for us for stuff for the last few weeks. There’s just one week left to nominate Web Zeroes for the Streamys! For a full list of names and such for nominations, check out this link, so you know what all we’re hoping to be nominated for. Once again, only do this if you really think Web Zeroes deserves it. No pressure! But we would super appreciate it.

And speaking of appreciation… Over the course of the last year and a half (wow) that we’ve been battling this raging behemoth of a Counter-Strike machinima known as The Leet World, different fans of ours have shown their devotion and gratitude by getting creative and making tributes. I’ve made a list of a few of our favorites. Check it out after the jump!

Happy New Year, Dudes

hny1Just wanted to wish you guys a Happy New Year to ring in 2009. Hopefully this one will bring many more laughs, twists, surprises, and great storylines for all of your favorite characters. We’ve got lots of great stuff in store for both TLW and WZ, and when we get around to it, G.R.I.E.F.

Thanks for sticking around to watch our ridiculous videos, and for encouraging us to do more. You guys are pretty cool.

Play some games, rock out like Chet, and party like animals. Stay away from Nick, though. He is dangerous when full of the alcohol. A veritable yeti/mountain man, full of trickery and/or hijinks. Those are dangerous things brewing together.

Anywho, happy new year, dudes. Play some Counter-Strike or go kill some zombies or something.

The Voltron Effect

Yesterday, Smooth Few Films (Jace, Jeff, Nick, Daniel and myself) got together as a whole for the first time since The Leet World started. In fact, Jace and Jeff had never even met one another until then. We gorged out on mexican food and acted fat together, and it was an explosion of awesome. Much like Voltron.

In other news, I wanted to remind everyone that The Leet World Season One Soundtrack is still available for purchase, and is still ridiculously badass. Definitely a good way to spend some of that Christmas money. Pre-paid credit cards ftw.

Also, I wanted to let you guys know about the Streamys, awards for live-action web shows. If you would like to, we would dig it if you guys nominated Web Zeroes for any category that you think it fits. This will definitely help us get the word out about our show. Click here to nominate for the Streamys!

EDIT: Thanks to you guys who have voted! Remember, if you do cast a vote, cast it for Web Zeroes!

Christmas Outtakes

Well, I just wanted to wish all you guys a hearty Merry Christmas from the dudes at Smooth Few Films. We’re mostly taking the next week or so off because of the holidays, family and traveling, and so far it’s been particularly epic. I’ve played the junk out of Fable II and Left 4 Dead, and have many more games to get to.

The Christmas Special will go up early next week, so be sure to stay tuned for that. Lots of laughs from The Leet World cast.

And lastly, here’s our Christmas present to you. Audio outtakes from the first two episodes of Season 2. My favorite parts include the many discussions on “pew”, as well as the return of Cortez Cardinal, ace attorney.

Ahmad is a Dad

Congratulations are in order for our favorite noobito, Ahmad.

Or rather, our friend Ben, the voice actor who plays him. Earlier this week, Ben became a proud father. His son was born on Monday, December 22nd- just in time for Christmas.

We here at Smooth Few Films just wanted to say a heartfelt congratulations to Ben and his wife. Many blessings, Ben. You are one of the coolest dudes I know. In a nerdy way, of course.

Roomie Woes

We now present Episode 2 of Season 2 of The Leet World, “The Shady Bunch”. I think you guys will find this one pretty funny, and I’m pretty sure you’ll get a kick out of where things are going. Needless to say, things aren’t quite the same around the house.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be releasing some more content for you guys, specifically a holiday-themed short with some of your favorite Counter-Strike machinima dudes, as well as some other extras that I think you’ll want to stick around for, including outtakes for the first couple of episodes. Also, maybe some more pictures of Nick’s beard.

You may need to pause the episode and let it load for a minute, due to the traffic. Also, remember to refresh after you log in so you can leave a comment. Video after the jump!
