Somewhere Over the Outtakes

mic2That’s where the lulz live.

Here are the audio outtakes from Episodes 5 and 6 of Season 2. I was going to include 7, but to be honest, there was plenty of goofy material for me to use, so Episodes 7 and 8 will be lumped together in a couple of weeks.

As always, lots of us goofing around in our absurd character voices, some movie quotes, and even some singing numbers to boot. In particular, I’m a fan of Ben discovering the “investigating each other’s privates” line as he’s reading it, and instantly cracking up. Many of you don’t know this, but the dude actually delivers his lines cold, with no prior knowledge of the script, which makes his voice work doubly impressive if you ask me.

Anyways, here are the outtakes. Right click and select “save as” to download.

In other news, Episode 8 is coming out next week. Wewt.

More Season 2 Outtakes

micSince Daniel was out of town this weekend, Nick and I did some general house cleaning in terms of production, so that was good. It’s really nice to be ahead this season, and you’ll probably hear me say that over and over again for the next couple of months.

If there was anyway to let you understand the amount of pure getting kicked in the nuts factor that last season’s workload caused for us, I would demonstrate it for you, believe me. But alas, these cursed Intertubes don’t permit that kind of data transfer.

As promised, here are the outtakes from Episodes 3 and 4 of the new TLW season. You know the drill. Us goofing around, messing up, trying to make each other laugh while recording audio, etc. Also, Daniel almost dies.

Christmas Outtakes

Well, I just wanted to wish all you guys a hearty Merry Christmas from the dudes at Smooth Few Films. We’re mostly taking the next week or so off because of the holidays, family and traveling, and so far it’s been particularly epic. I’ve played the junk out of Fable II and Left 4 Dead, and have many more games to get to.

The Christmas Special will go up early next week, so be sure to stay tuned for that. Lots of laughs from The Leet World cast.

And lastly, here’s our Christmas present to you. Audio outtakes from the first two episodes of Season 2. My favorite parts include the many discussions on “pew”, as well as the return of Cortez Cardinal, ace attorney.

The Poor Burro

He is muy triste. That means sad. He could tell you a story with his tears.

Somehow over the course of recording the dialogue for the Season Finale (we recorded parts 1 and 2 together, then part 3 a couple of weeks later), the mysterious burro became the brunt of many jokes. Were he real, I assure you his tears would fall like so much chubby rain. Or worse yet, sideways rain.

Anywho, as I said in the last update, there were well over 50 audio tracks to sort out, so the outtakes are about twice as long as usual. Hopefully you have as much fun listening to them as we did being goofballs. Right click and select “save as” to download it.

Warning: Definitely some NSFW tomfoolery on here.

Enjoy. The first commentaries should be hitting the site next week.

Announcing: New Things

I’ve been promising some announcements for several weeks now, so I figured it was time to stand and deliver. I’m no Lou Diamond Phillips, but I think I’ll be ok. Also, you may want to read on to see an interesting tidbit about part 3 of the Season Finale.

Here’s the stuff in the works…

The Angry Beard

If you spot an angry beard, be careful. He is like the Cloverfield monster, wreaking general chaos and causing disorientating camera work. And lo, his name be Nick.

Typically, audio outtakes encompass two full episodes, but Episode 13, being our longest and wordiest so far, had enough material all its own to provide you guys with some mega-lulz. Right-click to save, if you must.

Beware, those of you who are feint at heart. Some NSFW language at the end from our typically jovial bearded one. Keep voting on the Themetacular Challenge!

New Outtakes

So it’s been a pretty cool weekend. Daniel and Nick went to see Jace and a bunch of other friends from college while I stayed home and played tons of GTA IV. We also released our new Halo 3 short, The GunStop Way, which has been received well. While a lot of it is exaggeration, I still found it crazy how many people have apparently had similar experiences with the unnamed video game retailer.

A lot of folks have also been asking about the voice of GunFly. That’s Ty. You’ve heard his voice before in Episodes 9, 11 and 12 of The Leet World.

Here for your enjoyment is a new sampling of our audible screw-ups. Our rule of thumb is that we like to release audio outtakes for every two episodes, simply because one episode wouldn’t provide enough material to produce something worthwhile. Even though Episode 11 didn’t have much dialogue, Episode 12 more than made up for it. It seems the extra time in the booth can give a man a taste of closet fever.

How bad is the fever? You’ll just have to listen and find out. Right-click and select “save as” to download.

More filming tonight. An Episode 13 update is coming in the near future.

Funny Business

Episode 9 and 10 Outtakes, anyone? They’ve arrived. I’m excited, because 1) I’m a fan of extras, and 2) it’s been awhile since we’ve been able to post outtakes. The funny thing is, we would do it every episode, but we’ve gotten fairly efficient at getting in the sound booth (my closet) and getting our stuff done. Occasionally, we start goofing around or forget that we’re being recorded, and that’s when you get these comic gems.

Episode 11 is currently being filmed. Some of the first screenshots will be up this weekend.

Episode 9 Deleted Scenes!

I promised extras, and now I’m here to stand and deliver. And while I’m not as good looking as Lou Diamond Phillips, it makes my gift no less interesting: deleted scenes from Episode Nine: Satisfaction Guaranteed. If you’re here for the actual episode, scroll down or check it out on our episodes page.

There are two clips you’ll see. The first is a scene that was removed from near the beginning of the episode, and the second happens once the folks are comfortably answering phones in the office. Both were largely removed due to concerns about the length of the episode. I know that some of you guys wish every episode was about 2 hours long, but sometimes you can perform addition by subtraction- making sure everything flows well, stays tight, and maintains a strong and fluid pace.

Keep in mind that these are unfinished clips. That means the audio hasn’t been finalized, green screens are still present, and there is no music or ambient sound. Listen closely and you can hear Kerry on the verge of laughter as he performs Leeroy’s last couple of lines.

We’re in the Future!

We are now in 2008. Where are my flying cars and robots? Nowhere. The future is lies, I’ve decided.

In honor of this new year, I bring to you more gifts, tidings, etc. First, we’ve been hearing that some people want the lolcat picture from the holiday special…

PlayerCat!

Second, I have the audio outtakes from Episode Eight. Funny stuff. To me, one of the best parts is when I’m doing the voice of the combine soldier (pre-effects, of course), and I slip into doing Cortez. I kind of freaked out when I did it, because it was so sudden. Also, every time Nick goes off in the “Chet” persona, it’s always hilarious. Give it a listen.

Happy New Year, dudes!
