Update Time!

Well, we are still hard at work on Episode Eight. And when I say hard, I mean it. This week was the most rigorous week we’ve had as far as Smooth Few Films goes, so it’s been pretty nuts. While we’re not keen on giving out release dates (any number of things can cause a delay when working on an episode), it should be here at some point next week. We’ll give you more when we have a better idea.

There won’t be reason to stop showing up, though, because our Halo short will be up in the next day or two! This is pretty exciting for us, and we think that you guys should enjoy it. Now if you’re wondering to yourself “What? Why have they been doing this Halo thing instead of TLW”, it’s because we are submitting it to a contest that ends this week. In addition to that, this realistically delayed the release of Episode Eight by less than a day, because it was worked on at points when all 3 of us could not be together to film TLW stuff. So no worries.

In the meantime, here’s some notable gaming news from the last few days: Companion Cubes are on Sale, Crysis Rocks Trip Vid Cards, A Bajillion in the Warhammer Beta, Big Damn NES Controllers/PC’s are Awesome, and New Fixes and Maps are Coming to TF2!

Edit:  Companion cubes are already sold out!  Guess I’m not the only one who needs a fuzzy friend.

Super Fun Screenshot Day

Here are some more screenshots from Episode Eight. The more we film it the more we’re realizing just how gigantic this episode is. Fun stuff.

Ahmad in the middle… There he is! Back in the woodshed

Also, a couple of small peeks at our Halo 3 short. Last night was our first time filming in the Halo 3 engine, and it’s fairly interesting to try and apply our methods in another “location”. Some of the stuff that works in TLW didn’t work here, and in some ways it’s easier. We’re pretty happy with how it looks, though. Capturing at 720p is hot.

More on that project soon, but not today. Just screenies today. Enjoy!

Best Laid Plans…

All is still going well on the production of Episode Eight. I’ve even brought some screenshots, as an early holiday gift. I’m pretty generous like that. If you couldn’t tell from the last episode, there will be some major poo going down.

Episode Eight will be our mid-season “finale”, marking the halfway point of our first season of The Leet World. We’ll be taking a break after its release for about a month or so, in order to gear up for the second half of the season and really do some solid work for the next batch of episodes. In that time that we take off, there will still be a lot to keep you guys coming back though, so don’t worry. There will be plenty of extras (a Christmas present, perhaps?), as well as a look into some other things that we’re getting our hands in right now, including an upcoming Halo 3 short. That break should give you guys plenty to look forward to as far as the show goes, that’s for sure.

Audio Hilarity

Well dudes, things have been going great since the release of Episode Seven. Work on the next episode is progressing smoothly, though it’s a little daunting since this episode will have some complicated elements to it.

Some quick gaming news- IGN has released a “Top 100 Games of All Time” list to feed your fanboyism or your ranting. In my case, it’s both. It’s missing a few notables such as Counter-Strike, Tekken, anything from the Splinter Cell series, and the Sims for example. I’m not sure how MGS2 made the list but not MGS3. A few games were rated pretty low, too, I thought. It’s definitely worth a read though. Click here to discuss it in our forums.

Since I was feeling very generous, I put together a present for you guys: audio outtakes from episodes six and seven.

Disappearing Act

Well, I know that some of you are waiting for a trailer. The sad news is that the trailer for Episode Seven isn’t done. However, the good news is that the actual episode is. I thought that would be a good trade off.

So we now present to you dudes, the rad viewers, Episode Seven of The Leet World, “Got Disappeared“. We think this is one of our best yet. Hope you like it.

Podcast-astic!

Well, here’s the second edition of The Leet World podcast, where we talk about the show, some of your questions, and a few VERY nerdy things (you’ll have to listen to find out). We recorded it a little over a week ago, the day before Episode Six came out. If for no other reason, at least check it out to hear Damn Dangerous’s alternate “podcast version” of The Leet World theme-tune. It’s wonderful.

A few things will become clear when you listen to this… mainly, that we know way too much about TV. And Daniel and Nick are way too into tech.

Also, playing on the server with some of you dudes yesterday was swell. Hope to see more of you guys on there.

Ep Seven Screenies

We are still working on getting better versions up of Episode Six. It’s odd that some people seem to be having problems with the downloadable versions, while it’s completely fine for others. There’s a highly technical term for this phenomenon: gremlins.

Work has begun on the filming of Episode Seven, so I thought I’d post just a couple of screenshots for you guys. I think you’ll find one rather interesting…

I r t3h nub! No sign…

Home Improvement

After many trials and tribulations, we finally present to you Episode Six of The Leet World, “Crib Appeal“. We’re very pleased with how it all turned out, and are extremely happy that it’s finally released. Trust me, it’s like the devil himself tried to stop us over the last 48 hours. But we battled.

Other versions will be added throughout the day. Enjoy!

News to Abuse

Episode Six is nearing completion, and will be out later this week. What’s funny is that as far as production goes, this has been the fastest we have ever gotten an episode completed. Though it doesn’t appear that way from the outside, we are getting more efficient, and doing this in far less time- but since October was a month of hell (for me) and vacations (for Nick and Daniel), it has just taken longer to get the episode released.

Also- Episode Seven should be released in November as well.

And while you wait, check out some interesting video game news for the week: Call of Duty 4 Reviews are trickling out, South Park goes Guitar Hero tonight, Gray Fox ninjas his way onto SSBB, Zero Punctuation reviews Phantom Hourglass, and Super Mario Galaxies rocks.
