Storm’s Coming

stormThanks for all the comments on Episode 5. Like I’ve said before, we’re really getting into the swing of things this season. It is getting rather served, as some friendly folks are wont to say.

The story is just starting to get to the good stuff. Two more episodes, and we’ll be sitting on the half way mark of the season. How I wish you dudes knew what was marching relentlessly towards you…

I’ve been playing the junk out of Civilization Revolution lately. For a console RTS, the controls aren’t bad, and it’s actually surprisingly fun. Also, for those of you that played Mass Effect, there is a sequel coming, and the teaser rules.

The last episode ended on a bit of an ominous note. The storm is coming, and we’ve even got a few screenshots to prove it.

Enjoy!

More Season 2 Outtakes

micSince Daniel was out of town this weekend, Nick and I did some general house cleaning in terms of production, so that was good. It’s really nice to be ahead this season, and you’ll probably hear me say that over and over again for the next couple of months.

If there was anyway to let you understand the amount of pure getting kicked in the nuts factor that last season’s workload caused for us, I would demonstrate it for you, believe me. But alas, these cursed Intertubes don’t permit that kind of data transfer.

As promised, here are the outtakes from Episodes 3 and 4 of the new TLW season. You know the drill. Us goofing around, messing up, trying to make each other laugh while recording audio, etc. Also, Daniel almost dies.

The Body Count

We’re happy with Episode Three. Challenge episodes are always interesting because you never quite know how the action’s going to turn out until it all cuts together. It seems many of you enjoyed it however, so thanks for the awesome responses. If you think things are nuts so far, just wait until you see where this season goes.

I have a new favorite topic on our forums right now. Poster “Tigerking” put together a list of how many kills each TLW character has racked up over the course of the show. I’m sure it took him quite a bit of time to come up with his final numbers, and it’s pretty darn impressive. It’s also a good glimpse into the skill levels that we’ve given to each of our characters, because believe me, we really are intentional about when each of them gets a chance to own somebody. So please do yourself a favor and check out the TLW Body Count.

Also, I bring gifts in the form of screenshots from Episode 4. I wanted to bring candy and/or enchiladas, but these tubes that make up the Internet are of an unsettling restrictive nature.

There. It’s not food, but it’ll have to do.

Battle Shots

The holidays are almost over, and I am saddened that I will lose much gaming time. Been playing Prince of Persia, Fable II, The Force Unleashed, etc. But alas, the real world beckons yet again.

A bit ago, I mentioned the Streamys, which are still accepting votes/nominations. Feel free to submit Web Zeroes for the comedic categories, if you feel inclined to do so. Also, Hawty McBloggy is running a contest called the “Best of Halo Awards” for notable Halo machinima from the past year, and Bag Boy has been nominated! There are some other greats on the list as well, so browse, watch and vote to your liking.

I think it’s about time you saw the first glimpse of Episode 3 of Season 2 of The Leet World. In true Counter-Strike:Source fashion, our dudes are battling it out in Inferno. We worked hard this weekend filming, and I’m excited about the results. Here are some screenies:

Enjoy.

The Holiday HoeDown

Well here we are, another year down, and a new one upon us. We thought we’d send 2008 off with a bang, so we brought a kingly gift- The Leet World Holiday Special, redux.

In this edition, The Leet World characters run down their favorite things about the holidays. I think it’s a mighty good time. I hope you guys enjoy it, and remember, it’s a part of One Shared Vision, the machinima movement to promote Child’s Play. I’d definitely encourage you guys to look into Child’s Play, as it’s a rockin’ charity for gamers.

Speaking of video games, I hope you guys got a bunch of them for Christmas. I got Chrono Trigger DS, myself.

By the way, if you’re looking for some good entertainment at 7pm Eastern on Tuesday, December 30th, then check out Halo Community Live. It’s a live broadcast of several machinimas from the Halo community including TheDuoGroup, Halo 3 Mythbusters, and more. Unfortunately, we couldn’t participate because of late notice, but I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

Anywho, our new video is after the jump!

Christmas Outtakes

Well, I just wanted to wish all you guys a hearty Merry Christmas from the dudes at Smooth Few Films. We’re mostly taking the next week or so off because of the holidays, family and traveling, and so far it’s been particularly epic. I’ve played the junk out of Fable II and Left 4 Dead, and have many more games to get to.

The Christmas Special will go up early next week, so be sure to stay tuned for that. Lots of laughs from The Leet World cast.

And lastly, here’s our Christmas present to you. Audio outtakes from the first two episodes of Season 2. My favorite parts include the many discussions on “pew”, as well as the return of Cortez Cardinal, ace attorney.

On Extras and Ninjas

Like ninjas, we plan on giving some long overdue extra content in the next few weeks. I know that some of you are longing for a podcast, and believe me, we have been too. It was sad for us that we never got to record a season finale podcast to wrap up and tell tales of that huge finale and what went into it. But soon, you’ll be hearing a lot of that stuff.

Speaking of extras, check out our new feature at GamerSushi, Shattered Save Slots, where we tackle some of our favorite games. This week is Final Fantasy VII.

Also, outtakes are on the way. There’s some pretty good stuff from the first couple of episodes, and possibly even more Cortez Cardinal: Ace Attorney in there as well.

Here are some screenshots from Episode 3 of Web Zeroes. We got some great footage last weekend. I think this is going to be a pretty solid episode.

All part of the plan... The beard's addiction. An offer you can't refuse...

You know what else is full of ninjas? Christmas. Who knew it was next week? It came like a thief in the shadows. Next time, I’ll be ready.

Rolling on the Second

We’re incredibly relieved that Season Two has made its debut, after months of planning and a few weeks of diligent production. What was cool about Episode 1 was that it was technically finished last Tuesday, but we were able to spend a couple of days polishing and tweaking some of the edit. Plus, there was that day where we gorged like heifers.

Episode Two rolls onward. Because of our new production method of filming three and four episode chunks, we’re currently in the middle of shooting the third episode while the second is in post. Hot stuff.

I know a few of you are asking about when it’s coming out, but we’re still not sure yet. There are a lot of factors that go into releasing an episode, and getting them all to coincide is like conjuring some exotic spell from a bubbling cauldron. Dumbledore’s wand, etc.

I promised some screenshots from Episode Two, and here they are.

Enjoy. Also, I just added a sweet feature to GamerSushi about gaming’s best guns. FPS for the win. Go check it out!

Season 2 Announcement

So there’s a fun article over at GamerSushi about Valve, Half-Life 2, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and how Valve might be the best storytellers in the gaming business. Go read it.

And now on to more important things…

We’re ridiculously close to Season 2 of The Leet World. Stupid close, even. Perhaps burro close, but that could be stretching it. As I’ve said before, whenever no posts are happening on the front page, that means that there’s probably a lot going on in our silly machinima production realm. We’re pounding away at finishing Episode 1, and we’ve even started doing some work on Episode 3 at this point.

There’s also a new commercial from the CT’s for you to watch. Those guys have been getting around lately, doing lots of promotions. Maybe the stress is getting to them? Soon though, they’ll be back in their natural habitat. Video after the jump!

Of Spies and Men

Thanks for the great response to Web Zeroes, Episode 2. Web Zeroes episodes are always a tad more nerve wracking to release because it really is putting a bit more of us out there than our machinima. I mean, obviously. But then again, you get to see Nick’s beard, so I guess it all evens out. Were it not for that beard, perhaps many of you would have been turned off to the show’s charm. Sometimes I want to wear it like a parka.

In other news, we are hard at work on the first few episodes of The Leet World, Season 2. Obviously, I don’t want to spoil any kind of “secritz”, but we’re working on something fun for the first episode’s release. Mark my words, you might get excited enough to punch a puppy when you see what I’m talking about. And not to leave you hanging with that tease, here’s another one. Or three, to be exact:

Have fun with those. Those are like, sneaky James Bond style screenshots.

By the way, downloads for Web Zeroes are coming today at some point, we just got so caught up in working on Season 2 that we literally just forgot. I’m assuming we’ll be forgiven for that. If not, tough enchiladas.
