Down the Tracks

A close look at the first screenshots from Episode Eleven will more than likely reveal the location of the next challenge. Thought you guys might like the answer to that particular question. We’ve been excited about this episode for awhile, and we really think you guys will have fun with it. From our website statistics, it’s apparent that Episodes 4 and 8 are the most viewed, and we’re guessing it’s because of all the shooting and explosions. Rest assured, you will have plenty of those in our next installment.

Screenshots are below.

Video game news from the webz: LitFuse Films releases their new short, Valve shows off Left 4 Dead, the April Fools “Lego Halo” game, Team Fortress 2 is updated, and the coolest website ever- a list of the top 100 NES games– click on one and you can play it in your browser!

Chamber of Dorkness

We now present Episode Ten of The Leet World, “Reel Drama”. I think you guys will like the way this one turns out. Stay tuned as the next few updates will bring audio outtakes, a podcast (hopefully), and the public release of a certain cast member’s new movie. Not necessarily in that order.

Enjoy, and feel free to Digg at will!

Halo 3: The Bag Boy

To squat or not to squat? A father catches his son in the act of a questionable post-battle celebration. Is decency a thing of the past? This is a short produced and captured at 720p using the Halo engine. If you’ve ever been the victim of the infamous “Teabag” on XBox Live, then you might identify with this family’s dilemma.

Enjoy!

The Workaholics

The wait is finally over! We now present Episode Nine, “Satisfaction Guaranteed“. Over the last month, we’ve taken some time to look at the next half of season one, and how to help improve on the next batch of episodes. We’ve even started looking forward to the future. I think you guys will like what’s in store down the road for The Leet World, and from Smooth Few Films in general.

Also- expect lots of extras in the next week or two.

Shutting Down the WOPR

How about a nice game of chess?

Wow. What a crazy weekend.

As you are no doubt keenly aware, our server got- well- served. Thoroughly. “A Day in the Life of a Turret” has been a huge success, to say the least.  I guess people like them some Portal videos.

Much thanks to Digg, Kotaku, Joystiq, Destructoid, 1Up, Next-Gen, XBox 360 Fanboy, and all the others that pushed massive traffic (read: tens of thousands) to our humble abode, whose walls could not withstand the battering ram of the insatiable, tentacle-ey interweb.

Now that things have slowed down, we are re-hosting what will be forever known around Smooth Few Films as the video. There are a few places to find it.

Click here to see the download links. An Ipod version will appear soon.

GamingTV has kindly hosted some mirrors for us. GamingTV Mirrors!

Expect the Damn Dangerous song to appear on our site tomorrow!

As promised, here are the first screenshots from Episode Nine of The Leet World. Obviously, we’re not going to give much away, though there is a small revelation about the setting. Enjoy!

Nice hat. Phone-ing. Strategery.

Portal: A Day in the Life of a Turret

If a turret bitches about its job and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound? You bet it does. “A Day in the Life of a Turret” catches two turrets on the job during a typical day at the Aperture Science Enrichment Center, and the monotony that lies within. Enjoy!

Also, expect the first screenshots from Episode Nine in the next couple of days.

The Long Holiday

Tonight or tomorrow, there will be a new short up from Smooth Few Films. While this short is not “The Leet World” related, I think you guys will really enjoy it. Also, its release officially marks the end of our break from The Leet World. While we’ve already done just a little for Episode Nine, production will ramp up in full force after today. I thought that would make you gents and gals happy to know.

Also, if you’re up for watching a Hitchcockian Half Life 2 machinima, check out this nifty piece from Xanatos, a respected member of the machinima community, as well as one of our own forum-goers.

Loot Whores!

Smooth Few Films wishes all of you dudes and dudettes a Merry Christmas, happy holidays, etc. From the bottom of our hearts, you have made the latter half of 2007 a year to remember.

I’d like to remind you all that Santa could be leaving a pretty special present here in the next couple of days. I hear it’s so cool he couldn’t even get it here by Christmas. So be sure and check the website, which for the purpose of this metaphor shall be a Christmas tree. And no, the present is not a subtitled version of Episode Eight (though you should expect that at some point soon as well). It’s niftier than that.

Also, drop by the forums and weigh in on your loot!

If You Want Blood

We now present Episode Eight of The Leet World, “If it Bleeds”. This marks the halfway point of our season and is the midseason finale, of sorts. We’ll be taking a few weeks off from making episodes to get ready for the next half of the season, and taking some steps to ensure that the show just gets better and better. But, as always, there will be plenty of extra treats for you guys over the next few weeks, as we’ll have time to get some cool bonus content on here. And I promise you you’ll want to look at it. Trust me.

We’d like to thank you guys for being loyal visitors and fans, and it’s your participation and eagerness that makes this all the more fun. Smooth Few Films definitely couldn’t do this without your support. It’s been a great ride so far- here’s to more!

Enjoy! Also, be sure to keep voting for our Ziddio contest entry– today is the last day to vote!

You, You Got What I Need

Things have been going well with the release of “The Over-Achiever”! If you’re here for it, just scroll down.

But now, on to our pride and joy, The Leet World- the release of Episode Eight is upon us- it’ll be here in the next day or two, so “get your popcorn ready”, to quote the lovable Mr. Owens. It’s actually going to be the biggest episode yet (clocking in at around 12 minutes as of now), so get your bandwidth ready, too.  Remember, we’ll be taking a short break from making actual episodes of the show once Episode Eight is released, but there will be some great post-Christmas presents for you guys!

One other thing- so far, things are going well with the Ziddio contest we entered (using our Halo 3 video)- but we still need more votes! The winner of this contest gets some nifty prizes, including some great opportunities to show your videos to more and more people.

It would really help us out if you would take the time to go vote. All you have to do is register at Ziddio.com, and then click here to go to our video, and give it a good rating! We’re not asking you all to make multiple accounts or down-vote other videos or anything, so please don’t do that- giving us a good vote will be more than enough to do your part.
