Episode Cinco Pictarz

Well, filming on Episode Five finally commenced over the weekend, and after a few audio/video snags, we were able to get the train that is The Leet World moving again. What’s funny about doing Episode Five is that after how complex the last episode was, this one feels like a breeze. It was also strange looking at the script as we were about to do the audio, because it was filled with just so much dialogue. That’s pretty different from the script of “Dust 2 Dust”, which pretty much had just a few lines of dialogue constantly being interrupted with “they fight”.

So for those of you who enjoyed “Dust 2 Dust”, but really are hoping that the departure isn’t permanent, don’t worry- the challenge episodes are just there to mix things up a little bit at different points in the show’s life, as well as helping to resolve little plot arcs. Think of them as PPV events in the WWE. Sounds silly, but it’s a fairly decent analogy for the situation.

Here are some screenies for Episode Five. You might find a couple of the locales intriguing… Hope you enjoy. Please donate.

An Announcement… Taking in the Sights Old Memories

Daddy Warbucks and Updates

Hola duders. If you’re here for Episode Four, scroll down, or check it out on our episodes page.

If you hadn’t noticed, we put up a donate button on the right hand side of the site for just that- handy donations. What would this money go to, you ask. Great question. A number of things, and none of them include lining our pockets with golden trinkets. Here are some of the things on our “wish list”, and any donations we receive would go towards any and all of these items:

1) Storage- if only you could store raw footage into some invisible, nebulous space with infinite capacity. Since the beginning of The Leet World, we’ve purchased much giga-bittage of hard drive, including external drives, massive internals, etc, and it’s just not enough.  If you’re curious, each episode, being filmed in HD after all, takes up close to 100+ gigs of raw footage.

2) Computers, aka “actors”. We can do the show right now with what we have pretty effectively, but it would be nice to add a couple of more computers to our “studios” for some of the larger scenes.  Right now, we have to be pretty creative.  You might say to yourself “well I’ll be an extra!”, but from our experience, that gets really complicated.  Especially when Daniel and Nick and I are arguing about a shot.  Or I’m being a jerk.  Etc.

3) Web server renewal. We’re going to be renewing our webspace and bandwidth fairly soon for the next year. It’s not free, unfortunately.

On a related note, you may have noticed that the site is running a little slowly since Episode Four’s release. It’s being worked on, and should hopefully be fixed shortly.

Anywho, all of those things are on our radar as far as things that we’re going to be putting our money on fairly soon.  We just thought we’d give you dudes, our awesome fans, a chance to participate in the show in a very cool way.  Like I said, the show can continue without donations, but they would certainly be awesome, and make our lives easier.  I figured I’d put up a little description of what specifically the donate button was for, rather than just saying we want some money.  It seems a little more personal to know where the money is going that way.

Episode Five is getting underway slowly, partially because we needed a break after Episode Four. Don’t worry, though, this episode will be fairly easy to do, and will return to true TLW form. Every time we have a challenge episode, expect the formula to be shaken up a little bit, and then we’ll return to the norm. We have some fun little storylines in store for this next mini-arc that we think will thrill some of you guys. Can’t wait to show you.

Thanks for watching, and keep spreading the word!  Please donate.

Dust Busters

Well, I know it’s been a long wait, but “Episode Four: Dust 2 Dust” is finally here. This episode took a little longer for several reasons: 1) Daniel was out of town for a week, 2) one of our computers (mine) no longer runs Steam, so we’re down an “actor”, and 3) we wanted this episode to be the best it could be, so we pushed it back a couple of days to continue to work on it. Typically, we will be releasing every two weeks, and this last wait (which was three weeks plus a few days) will be about as long as they come.

The end result of all of that is an episode we’ve worked pretty hard on, so we hope that you all enjoy it. Anyone that’s played a match of CSS (or any online game for that matter) should get a kick out of it.

Also, Halo 3 had very little to do with the delay. Although, it held up our music a little. Just a little.

Enjoy!

Screenshots Galore

Thought some screenies from Episode Four might whet the appetite a little bit. It’s been tricky trying to show you guys bits of this episode, because we don’t want to give too much away. Hopefully you’ll like what you see. Also, in case you hadn’t guessed from the trailer, the episode will be released some time next week. We’ll post as soon as we think we can call a final release date.

This episode has been so much more complicated than things we’ve done in the past, so that’s why it’s taken a little longer than normal. Typically, we plan on releasing episodes every two weeks, but for this one, we gave ourselves about three to make sure it could be as good as possible. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed.

Enjoy the screenies. Click to enlarge.

Don’t Hate the Player Falling Back

A Sneak Peek

Since it’s been a few days without any kind of tangible proof that Episode Four is actually coming, we thought we’d give you guys a trailer for it. Hope you enjoy. Should be out sometime next week. Hopefully, there will also be more activity on our server in the coming days- my Steam decided to break so I haven’t been able to play. Soon, though. Soon.

Interviewz and Serverz

Just thought I’d share with everyone that we’re featured on an interview over at the website of the smokin’ CSS team “compLexity”. If you don’t know who they are, they are kind of awesome. It’s a fun little interview where we talk about the show, our background, the future of SFF, and maybe even a couple of hints for our fans.

The Leet World Interview

In other news, we now have a Dallas-based CSS server for The Leet World, come check it out! 63.209.36.184:27015. Still trying to work out some of the kinks, so if it restarts once or twice during the weekend, forgive us. We’d love to see some of you dudes there. Though we’re not very good.

Bearing Gifts

Just a quick little update for you guys. Things are going well, and it seems that lots of people are coming to check out Episode Three, which is awesome (scroll down for it if that’s why you’re here).

Also, we’ve recently been listed as a “featured series” on Machinima.com along with other notable entries such as RedvsBlue, Pathfinders, and Civil Protection, so be sure and check it out! And, just like the title of this post indicates, I have a little present: Episode Two and Three audio outtakes.

Three’s a Crowd

So it’s pretty crazy to us that we’re already arriving at our third installment, but here we are. Now presenting Episode Three, “Set Up Us The Bomb”. We’re very pumped about this episode, and we think you’ll see why once you watch it. All of the versions can be found from the episodes page, or you can check out the flash version right here.

Remember to spread the word about The Leet World!

Tragedy on the Set!

Late breaking news straight from cs_militia…

Tragedy struck the set of The Leet World today as cameraman Dermot McDermot was shot and killed by former Terrorist leader Cortez Emilio Alejandro Jesus Cardinal. Details are being withheld until the authorities have notified the McDermot family, but an anonymous eyewitness states that while the shooting was unintentional, it was certainly preventable. When asked for further comment, The Leet World contestant simply known as “Cortez” had this to say:

“Bitch should not have gotten so close.”

McDermot is survived by a cat named Winkles, his grandmother Cici, and two illegitimate children. While the legal representation of The Leet World is unsure of whether or not charges will be filed against their team, they have stated that the next episode will still contain the footage taken by McDermot from the moment of his death, because “Dermot would have wanted it that way.”

Episode Three of The Leet World, “Set Up Us The Bomb”, will air this Wednesday, September 5th. Let us all remember Dermot’s commitment to his craft.
